St Ursula’s College provides an extensive sporting program, with our students having access to a wide variety of representative sports offered by Darling Downs School Sport. Students also have access to a multitude of team and individual sporting activities which allows them to explore capabilities not previously experienced in the primary setting.
All girls are encouraged to participate in social sport at the College as well as the numerous College championships including track and field, swimming, cross country and tennis with the Desenzano Cup for Interhouse sports.
The College has facilities which include the indoor multi-court Salo Centre, four multi-purpose outdoor courts for tennis, basketball and netball, and the College oval which caters for a variety of activities such as track and field, rugby, touch, football and cricket training.
The College 25 metre outdoor pool is heated and offers an alternative training venue for not only swimming, but many other aquatic activities. The College also has a swim squad which trains in Terms 1 and 4, in preparation for the Toowoomba Secondary School Sport (TSSS) and Darling Downs carnivals.
Our sporting program has been designed to offer an expansive yet flexible and responsive program of physical activity which meets the needs and interests of students in a professional and encouraging manner. We encourage all students to explore the wide variety of sports that are on offer at St Ursula’s.
The Director of Sport oversees the College sporting program, assisted by Teachers in Charge (TIC’s) of various sports and in conjunction with teaching staff and outside coaches.
